Three Keys to Establishing Goals in Life
What you are about to read is my three keys to establishing goals in life. You see, just three years back, there was no way I knew how to establish them in my life. But until I was exposed to the technology of Neuro Linguistic Programming, I now know that there are three simple keys to establishing goals in life.
Number one, you have to know your why.
There is a saying that a man with a big enough why can overcome any hows. And what does this mean? If you have a very clear reason on why you want to do something then it’ll be easy for you to go about planning what you want in life. The reason is because when you have a reason why, everything would point towards getting the thing done. You have immense amount of energy to accomplishing tasks and establishing goals become easy for you.
Number two is to keep a journal to track your progress.
One very difficult thing to do to establish goals in life is to commit to them. So one thing you need to do is have a journal to track the progress of them so that when you have established them, you will be able to find out for yourself if you are on track or not. If you are off-track from them, you can very quickly bring yourself back on track again. Very important in establishing goals, is that you must be motivated to pursue your goals or else it is really pointless in establishing them in the first place.
The third thing to establishing goals in life is to remind yourself constantly.
You probably know very well how to go about establishing goals. But one problem that many people face is that their attention wanes after a while. They just go by the wayside, they procrastinate and they give themselves excuses after a while.
What you have to do after that is to remind yourself of your them. How do you do this? Very simple. Every morning, when you wake up, even before you do anything or even before you have breakfast, get yourself a piece of paper and pen and write down 10 goals you have for yourself. This helps to remind you what is it you have established for yourself and keep your mind focused on achieving those goals along the day.
There you go, I’ve shared with you three keys to establishing goals in life. These have worked tremendously well for me and I urged you to test them out and use them in your life.
What Does Desire Have to Do With Business?
I bet you are a little curious how desire has anything to do with business. Desire is the starting point of all the things we want in our lives. Desire comes about in the form of wanting more; more in your life, more in your finances, more in your relationships, more in your career. Simply more! That is the starting point. Your hearts desire.
Let me put it a little simpler. I always ask my clients what they want from their business or life. The standard response is “I don’t know”. I always say “Yes, you do”. A lot of the time no one has asked them before so they haven’t really thought about it. Sometimes I get a response about wanting financial freedom, wealth, a new car, a new house, things like that. All of this is all perfectly fine. I want you to go deeper and look at the desire that lies in your heart.
That is exactly what I want to speak to you about your hearts desire-your true desire.
We all have it. It’s inside of you. It’s the conversations you have with yourself inside your head. You play as if it were a movie “What a Wonderful Life” – “Your Wonderful Life”. This life in your head has no boundaries, no ridicule, no judgment, no money attached to it and no obstacles attached, it just is.
We don’t speak about it for fear of what others will think about what we want, that others will think we are crazy or what you want is impossible to do. I want to tell you it is your right to want what ever it is that you want.
For me, my desire began when I was working for a successful Financial Advisor. I knew I wanted more. I began getting restless; I began having anxiety, and soon becoming physically ill. I knew I wanted more out my life.
To live my true hearts desire I had to leave my JOB. I knew I wanted to teach, encourage and help people, to do exactly what I am doing now. I also knew that I had to leave my job. I didn’t know how I was going to do this or what was coming next. It didn’t matter to me. Once I got really clear about what I really wanted all the opportunities came flowing in.
I want you to get honest with yourself and answer this question “What do I really want”. You don’t have to tell me, your partner, your friend, you don’t have to tell anyone. The only person who needs to really know this is YOU. You owe it to yourself to be honest with yourself.
You have the right to want and have anything that you want. It’s not wrong to want what want.
We tend to get comfortable in the life we are living and we just start tolerating all the stuff we really don’t like. That is not living. That is suffering.
Take a few moments and answer the following questions. Write them down. You don’t have to show them to anyone.
1. Ask yourself if you understand your true desire.
2. Now take out all the judgment, obstacles and money. Answer #1 again. Can you see the difference?
3. What would I have to believe to begin taking action on this desire right now?
4. Is your life filled with things you desire or tolerate?
The first time I answered this questions it touched me deeply and yes, I cried. I had finally admitted to myself what I really and truly wanted. What was in my hearts desire.

How to Share Your Business Story Online
Reading “The last post” in the recent edition of Legion, the Royal British Legion magazine in the UK, it dawned on me that social media is really all about sharing your story. In the article I read, an Army reservist used his PR skills to tell the folks back home what life was like on the front line. Through blogging, Facebook and YouTube, he with others, collaboratively painted a clear and more real picture of the everyday lives, thoughts and feelings of our troops. It really was that simple.
So why is it that so many people just don’t “get” social media? Millions of us are using it around the planet. Millions of us are having great online conversations. Millions of us are building effective networks and connections across the globe. And what are we all doing in the process? We are telling our own story.
Take the current conflict in Afghanistan. Via the media we hear and see events almost daily, stories of attacks, injuries and the unfortunate tragedy of war – death. But what this army reservist has done is to take a real life situation and share it with a global audience. It’s believable because the stories shared are actually happening. The stories give the reader or viewer a unique understanding or awareness of the highs and lows of British military life in Afghanistan.
Even in the depths of battle with bullets ricocheting and dust flying, a bird’s-eye view of war is captured on film, via words or through conversation. What’s captured is edited and then transported around the world via the internet. The story promotes people being able to connect together to find out more, to follow with specific interest, and to educate about the reality of the situation.
What lessons can be learned from this effective and successful use of social media on the front line to help you and your business?
* Share the story of your business – the highs and lows, the celebrations and learning curves.
* Share your story in the moment – as your business grows and evolves.
* Share your story to build a positive following or group of fans (think potential clients) and create a network of business builders to help you achieve success
* Share your story and your business happenings to inspire, to celebrate your unique offering, and to educate your audience about the benefits of what your business is all about.
Turn Your Computer Into the Ultimate Lounge Room Companion
With a little effort you can turn a humble PC into the one entertainment box to rule them all.
Computers don’t have to be boring beige boxes which stay hidden away in the study. These days you’ll find a range of sleek home theatre PC cases, designed to look at home alongside your television and run whisper quiet.
If you’re not looking to build a new computer from scratch, you can give your existing PC a lounge room-friendly makeover. If your primary concern is noise, swap out noisy case fans for quiet alternatives from the likes of Antec, Zalman and Acousti.
Remember, fans are for cooling and heat is the mortal enemy of PC stability. Silent fans tend to be larger so they can spin slower but still move a large volume of air. Look for variable speed control and take extra care if you’re putting your computer inside an AV cabinet with limited airflow.
Silencing your computer and managing heat is a matter of trial and error, particularly if you’re using a cramped desktop case rather than a roomy tower case. With your case fans muted you might find that the fan on your CPU, power supply or graphics card is now the loudest component. Switching to a quiet or fanless heatsink for your CPU is the next most economical move, after which you might consider a silent power supply.
Keeping the heat down lets the remaining fans in your PC run slower and thus quieter. Tying down loose cables helps improve airflow, as does removing the covers over unused PCI slots. Vibration is another source of noise, so use rubber washers to install the fans, hard drive and optical drive.
Next consider how you’ll connect to your television. Many new processors feature an integrated graphics chip with built in MPEG2/4 hardware decoding, which is important for smooth playback. If you’re looking at Intel’s Sandy Bridge chips, opt for HD 3000 graphics (rather than HD 2000) and a motherboard with an HDMI output.
If you need to add a graphics card for the hardware decoding, AV outputs and extra grunt, you don’t need as much grunt as a high-end gaming machine. Opt for mid-range graphics card with a heat sink rather than a fan, but keep in mind the heat sink might cover the adjacent PCIe slot. Many graphics cards come with AV adaptors for connecting to component, composite and s-video inputs on your television.
If you want to watch and record free-to-air television you’ll need a digital TV tuner. Opt for dual high-def tuners so you can record two shows at once and watch all the new channels (you can downscale them to standard-def if you don’t own a high-def television). Assuming you have a spare motherboard slot, internal TV tuners generally feature stronger tuners than USB sticks. Try to get the tuner as far away from your other components as possible, to avoid interference and heat issues which can cause reception problems.
With the hardware in place, next time we’ll look at configuring the software on your media centre PC.
What Is the Difference Between a Headache and a Migraine?
Differentiating a Migraine from a Headache is of utmost importance in order to receive the right treatment or cure. So, how do we tell the difference?
These indicators will provide you with the ability to tell migraine from headache.
Here are the three most common indicators of a migraine:
* Visual defects – examples are sensitive to lights also known as photosensitivity, seeing flashing lights and in some worst cases; even going blind temporarily.
* Constantly Feeling Nauseous – this means you get an uncomfortable sensation in the upper stomach which may or may not result in vomitting.
* Recurring Pain – it can either be on the right or left side of the brain which originates from the eyes, continues down to the neck area.
Of all the three above mentioned indicators, Visual Disturbances may indicate a serious migraine case. You should consult a neurologist immediately if you experience temporary blindness.
Environmental factors can trigger migraines. Noise, light, heat and even temperature changes have been identified as sources of migraine triggers.
Keep a journal or a small notebook with you at all times so that you can keep a record of your migraine and headache attacks. A short description of the current environment when the migraine strikes will help the doctor to identify what triggers the painful attack. Sometimes, it could be more than a single factor. With this note, simple headaches can be easily differentiated from serious migraine conditions.
Medications can cure simple headaches. On the contrary, medications cannot cure migraines because a migraine is NOT just a headache. You should consult a neurologist who will recommend a series of treatment for your migraine.
Are these treatments effective? Some are but most of the conventional treatments are not completely effective. Thus, migraineurs then resort to finding alternative cures and even buy medications over- the-counter in desperation to relieve the pain.
Relieving scents and incense, traditional cures like acupuncture and acupressure are known examples of alternative cures which migraineurs have tried. For some, sleep is the best solution.
Doctors have advised those who suffer from migraines not to take painkillers when a migraine attack strikes. Surprise? Well, the fact is this: Migraine attacks usually follows a series of patterns and by not interrupting these patterns using painkillers will shorten the duration of the attack.
In the minds of the migraineurs, there is always this question: do you know how painful it is and is it really possible to ignore this throbbing migraine pain and not take painkillers in times of an attack?

Budgeting for Teenagers – The Parent’s Role
Most of today’s’ family problems are tied with irresponsible money management. Many of today’s parents didn’t instill the proper value of money into their kids. Why should they? There was plenty to go around until the economic debacle. Because of this we should begin teaching our children to use their money sensibly to keep them out of trouble. But they say teaching teenagers to do it is like teaching old dogs new tricks. That’s not true really. I know of some teenagers who are just doing fine. They discovered that money is not the master but the slave. We control them, not them controlling us.
Money Sense
There are three things we should know about money. We can only spend what money we have. Second, we can only have money if we work. And the third one is we can’t spend money if we don’t have it. One of the three is false. Which of the three is it? Yes, your guess is right! Its number three: credit spending. That’s the biggest reason for the economic collapse. People using their credit cards like there’s no tomorrow.
Credit Cards and Doing by Example
The first thing to do is teach our teenagers about correct budgeting, don’t even allow them to have any credit cards. Explain to them the virtue of spending only within their means. Better still; spend less than what they earn. And what do you call the balance between actual money minus less spending? Savings! What do you do with money savings? Put them in the bank! Credit cards are great sources of temptation to overspend.
We can’t expect our teenagers to listen to us if we’re not practicing what we’re preaching. It’s called doing by example. If we want your teenagers to save, show them our savings as well.
Save by Percentage
Most teenagers are earning their own money already. They have their salaries and sometimes additional money as allowances from us parents, money gifts, and so on. They need guidance from us parents how set aside some of their money for savings. Saving by percentage is more advantageous than by saving by expectation. This is how it works. They shall set aside some percentage of their money as savings. Let’s say 5% monthly. That’s sure money in the bank. The other way of saving runs like this. I’ll spend all my salary earnings along with the allowance I get from my parents. I’ll save my birthday or Christmas money instead. Is this wise or what? This is not going to work; not by a mile.
Essential and None Essential Expenditures
Remember, as teenagers, they have to pay their taxes and spend on tuition fees, transportation expenses, food & clothing expenditures, and cellphone bills. These are the fixed expenditures. They’re considered as essential expenses. There are also other types of expenses which are spent for rest and recreation; vices and habits; body accessories and grooming. These are called non-essential. Some like to include clothes as none-essential; maybe it means designer or branded clothes.
Make a List
Making a list of income against expenditures will give us clearer insight on what should be done with our money. It’s one way of putting sense to our finances. Teenagers should also be taught the same to help them save and stop getting broke all the time.
